I’m Here!

I’m Here!

On Tuesday, I woke up at 6AM to get ready for my 2 hour flight to Denver! We arrived somewhat close to boarding time and so we were a little rushed (when there’s a baby involved, transportation gets a little tricky). We made it to the flight and I slept most of the way, as well as Lucy. It was a short flight. When we arrived, we got to the baggage claim and one of my suitcases did not make the flight. So we had to have the airport company (not sure how that works) deliver it to us later that day. I’m just glad it was not lost!! I finally ended up at the apartment and met my roommate! She is so sweet and I know she will be good to live with. The apartment is far larger than I expected and so is my room. I was so excited to start decorating and getting things organized. My parents and I have roamed the city, finding all the hottest places to be (including 4 different Targets). We visited the Colorado Ballet Studio to see their summer schedule, and I’ve already taken two classes before the year has even started! I loved them. The teacher’s name is Robert and he owns a company in Denver called Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Dance (or something like that). He was very contemporary in the steps he gave and the emphasis of port de bras. Taking those classes relieved my nerves, so I’m mostly excited rather than nervous for Monday! On Friday, I went to dinner with a lady who danced with San Francisco Ballet professionally and now lives in Denver. She offered to have me over for dinner and to talk if I needed to. I am so blessed that God put her in my life. I have also found many coffee shops! They are so cute and hip and I can not wait to show my friends when they visit. My parents left Denver today. I know I will miss them, but I feel more than read and prepared to begin this new stage of life. I know I will look back on this moment thinking, “living by myself at 17? What was I doing?” but I will also look at this moment in my life fondly. This is my year of growing, maturing, and having fun.
